Purpose of Our Methodology
This page describes exactly how the IPTV X Hub editorial team evaluates and tests IPTV services. We publish it in the interest of transparency: our site sells IPTV subscriptions, which represents a potential conflict of interest we explicitly acknowledge. Our response to this conflict is to document every test with measurable, reproducible, and dated data.
Test Hardware
Tests are conducted on the following hardware (owned or rented by the team):
Smart TVs
- Samsung QLED 4K — Tizen OS (2023 and 2025 models)
- LG OLED 4K — WebOS 23 and WebOS 25 (2023 and 2025 models)
- Sony Bravia 4K — Google TV (2024 and 2025 models)
Android Boxes / Set-Top Boxes
- Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max (2nd generation)
- Apple TV 4K (3rd generation, A15 chip)
- NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (2019, latest firmware)
- Formuler Z12 (dedicated IPTV box, My-TV Online 3)
- Generic Android TV Box (Amlogic S905X4 processor, 4 GB RAM)
Mobile
- iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 18) — via iptv-smarters-pro/" class="mca-autolink" data-mca="1">IPTV Smarters Pro
- Samsung Galaxy S24 (Android 14) — via IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate
Tested Network Conditions
Each device is tested on four connection types, representative of typical households:
- 1 Gbps fiber optic (symmetric) — ideal connection
- 500 Mbps fiber optic — common high-end connection
- ADSL/VDSL 50 Mbps — standard connection in suburban areas
- 4G mobile (measured speed between 15 and 45 Mbps depending on area) — on-the-go test
Measured Metrics
For each device/connection combination, we measure:
- Stream startup time (in seconds) — from pressing the channel to image display
- Channel switch delay (zap time) (in milliseconds) — measured manually with a stopwatch, 10 readings per channel
- Micro-interruption frequency (buffering events) — number of interruptions per hour of continuous viewing
- Effective video bitrate — measured via Wireshark on the network card during playback
- Effective displayed resolution — verified through the TV’s system settings
Tools Used
- FAST.com and Speedtest.net — internet speed measurement before each session
- iperf3 — local network bandwidth test
- Wireshark — network traffic capture and analysis (actual stream bitrate)
- Manual stopwatch — zap time and startup time measurement
- Built-in TV system settings — verification of active resolution and HDR
Test Protocol
Each service is tested over a 7 consecutive day period, with 4 sessions per day (morning, afternoon, evening, night). Evening sessions (8:00–10:30 PM) are the most representative of peak load on IPTV servers.
We systematically test:
- At least 50 different channels per device (mix of French, sports, 4K, international)
- 1 full VOD movie (to test stability on long streams)
- 1 live sporting event if available
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
This site is operated by IPTV EUROPE LTD, which sells IPTV X Hub subscriptions. Our tests include our own service. We strive to apply the same objective criteria to all services evaluated. When an article compares IPTV X Hub to a competitor, we clearly state so. Published data comes from real measurements — we do not alter results in favor of our own offering.
